PRINTING
Printing is specifically
programmed to print 4”x6” index cards only. 1. Printing recipe cards is easy when you follow these simple directions. It is important to understand the printing is to be done just like you would print an envelope. You must use the envelop feeder on your printer . You feed the cards just like an envelop (4”side first, this is the “leading edge”) On most printers you can stack a number of cards in the feeder. If you feed the long side first cards will most likely get stuck in the printer, because the rollers can’t grab them. 2. When you’re ready to print a card, press the page setup button. Select the letter size page. 3.
Most important step is to also select the landscape (horizontal) orientation
4. Next you will setup the margins, once you deterime the correct setting it will always be the same. If your envelope feeder is on the left side of the paper feed tray use these settings: Set left margin to 5” Set all others to 0” If your envelop feeder is in the center of the paper feed tray use these settings. Set left margin to 5” Set top margin to 3” Set others to 0” 5.
This should give you good results, you may need to adjust margins slightly to
position type on cards correctly. Once you have your settings make a note of the
correct margins which work for your printer. Another feature of the program is
its ability to print a double sided card. If your recipe is too long to fit on
one card, just insert one blank in the feed tray, when it is printed, turn it
over and feed it again to print the remainder of your recipe on the back
